Spherical domes for Wired Next Fest 2014
Milan, Italy /
May 2014
Nearly 100,000 science and technology aficionados enjoyed their time in hemispherical domes during the 2014 Wired Next Fest. Festival attracted attention of the most accomplished and promising talents in fields of technology, science and arts.
It consisted of over 120 events taking place under 8 hemispherical domes provided by Freedomes, including lectures by known scientists and entrepreneurs, inventors and visionaries.
One of our domes was used by Audi to display their R18 e-tron quattro race car, which in the next month won prestigious 24 Hour of Le Mans.
As a pièce de résistance visitors were given a chance to dance their night away to tunes of none other than Giorgio Moroder, accomplished composer, and legend of Italo disco.
4 Freedome 50, 3 Freedome 75, and Freedome 500 created over 1000m2 of interior space, all structures took advantage of premium flooring, and selected hemispherical domes were connected by tunnels.
Structures were covered by a 3-layer opaque membrane, which did not only protect guests from harsh sunlight, but it also allowed use of projectors, both inside on a special screen, and on a surface of the dome during the night time.
Main themes of festival were innovation and creativity, qualities very close to heart of freedomes team. Contemporary design of our structures has been appreciated by both visitors and organizers. This is why we are looking forward to next year’s event.
