The Final of The Tall Ships Races 2013
Szczecin, Poland /
August 2013
The Final of the Tall Ships Races in Szczecin, Poland (Freedomes HQ) hosted almost three million people, over one hundred biggest and most beautiful ships in the entire world as well as 9 of our spherical structures in 5 different sizes.
We are very proud to have been chosen by the organizers to provide such wide range of geodesic domes for this spectacular event with a rich, almost half-a-century long tradition.
For the needs of the event our domes were transformed into several different thematic zones, including an Eco zone, a SPA zone, Golf zone, Children's Island and hosting regional presentation stands.
Given the number of visitors as well as the unique location of the domes, the event was a huge logistical challenge. Although 6 out of 9 domes (including two 300 m2 constructions) have been placed on an island with limited access, thanks to our fast assembly technique it only took us 4 days to set all the constructions up.
A quick preview of domes assembly:
One of the F300 domes along with the F75 and the F50 structures were covered with white PVC membrane with transparent fronts and branding. All domes were equipped with the premium floor system to significantly increase comfort and stability, not to mention air conditioning additionally installed in two of the biggest constructions.
Interesting and modern looking structures evoked great interest among the local community and the media, which actively and curiously watched the progress of our work already, thus helping to promote this unique event.
The Tall Ships Races Final in Szczecin was named the best final in the history of the Race for the second time in a row, consistently raising the bar for other cities hosting it.
We invite you to visit our specially created interactive guide to the Finale TTSR2013, and to look at both the short cutscene of the installation, as well as the video podcast from the event.
