Geodesic domes return to the Wired Next Fest
Milan, Italy /
May 2015
For the second year in a row Freedomes headed to Milan for one of most exciting festivals for enthusiasts of science and technology.
Surpassing the success of last year event, organized by the legendary Wired Magazine was not be easy, as previous Wired Next Fest did not only draw attention of nearly 100 thousand visitors, but it also earned accolade of event industry experts, winning two prestigious BEA awards for the best event in “cultural” and “educational/training” categories.
Once again Freedome 500 was chosen for the main hub of event, acting as the auditorium for speeches and panels with the most popular and important guests. Structure offering 500 square meters of unobstructed space and featuring premium floor system was the perfect venue for this purpose.
3-layer opaque membrane successfully blocked any sunlight from penetrating the interior of the F500 geodesic dome, not only allowing creative use of lighting and clear projection on the huge screen located above the main stage, but it also guaranteed cool temperature inside of the the structure.
110 square meter Audi Dome (Freedome 110) named after one of the main partners of the event also hosted many important events, smaller 3x Freedome 75 with transparent front section turned out to be perfect for more intimate but engaging panels, while 2x Freedome 50 played very important supporting role.
Geodesic dome were not the only structures that we brought to Milan. For extra diversity Wired Next Fest village also featured three freestanding Freecubes. Creative system of multipurpose cubic structures designed and manufactured by Freedomes.
With 90 conferences, over 150 speakers, 40 workshops, 10 exhibitions, 6 concerts and 108 500 participants - 2015 Wired Next Fest was bigger and better than ever. It was also a great start for the 2015 World Expo that also took place in Milan.
We are extremely happy for a chance to once more take part in this amazing event and we can not wait to find out what organizers will prepare for the 2016 Wired Next Fest.
