Fulldome Planetarium for Revolve IPS 2016
Warsaw, Poland /
June 2016
What happens in the domes, stays in the domes... not this time! In June, two large geodesic domes (including one from Freedomes) were raised in Warsaw’s Discovery Park for Revolve IPS 2016 — the biggest conference of planetariums in the world!
Geodesic dome named 'Proxima' (Freedome 300) was made into a chill-out zone on beanbags during the ”Night in the Domes” - a special encounter between artists, viewers and fulldome technologies. A dome with a base area of 283 m2 and 19-meter diameter allowed guests to teleport into the most remote corners of the universe using fulldome immersive projections and time-lapse techniques.
International Planetarium Society conference is a worldwide event organized this year by the Copernicus Science Centre and "Heavens of Copernicus” in Poland. Once in every two years, it brings together 700 members from 35 countries including the very core of the planetarium elite: directors of institutions, scientists, designers, writers and technicians.
For this edition, team Freedomes erected 2 spherical tents with Premium Floors totaling almost six hundred square meters base area. The white Proxima dome was equipped with a custom projection liner for the most immersive virtual reality experience. Viewers inside the tent took a deep dive into the dynamic shows created live and sky-filled projections combined with music and art.
