Dublin, Ireland /
June 2015
ESB a leading supplier of electricity in Ireland teamed up with Freedomes to organise a “Powering Potential Expo”, interactive exhibition showcasing advancements in smart home technologies, sustainable building, smart grid systems and plug-in hybrid/electric cars with the brand new BMW i8 shown as an example.
Inspiring speeches by futurologists, professors of political sciences, experimental brain research, engineering and arts from Trinity College were highlights of the event held in 300 square meter geodesic dome located in a charming Merrion Square of Dublin.
Apart from transparent front efficiently illuminating exhibition area, structure featured a tunnel ramp further improving accessibility of the Freedome.
Organisers divided large area of F300 structure with partition wall, providing separate sections for the exhibition and presentations, proving that one large dome could easily serve many purposes.
Sci-Fi looks was just one of the reasons why organisers choose geodesic dome for their venue. Another important factor was fact that geodesic dome structures are one of the most energy-efficient and sustainable structures know to a man, clearly representing key values behind the “Powering Potential Expo”.
